Information You Provide
Trip Data
When you create trips in the App, the information you enter (resort selection, dates, room type, view type) is stored locally on your device. This data never leaves your device unless you use Trip Sharing, Family Sync, or iCloud backup features.
DVC Member Settings
If you identify yourself as a DVC member and select home resorts, these preferences are synced across your devices via Apple's iCloud key-value storage. This data is stored in your personal iCloud account and is not accessible to us.
Notification Preferences
Your notification settings are stored locally on your device and synced across your devices via iCloud.
Information Collected Automatically
We do not collect any automatic data. We do not use analytics services, crash reporting tools, or any tracking technologies.
How Your Data Is Stored
Local Storage
All trip data and preferences are stored locally on your device using standard iOS storage mechanisms. This data remains on your device and is not transmitted to us.
iCloud Sync (Optional)
Your trip data may sync through Apple's iCloud service using CloudKit in the following ways:
- Trip Sharing — Mouse Bound Deluxe subscribers can share individual trips with other users via CloudKit. Shared trip data (resort, dates, room type, view type) is visible to the recipient.
- Family Sync — Mouse Bound Deluxe subscribers can sync all trips with family members via a shared CloudKit zone. All participants can view each other's trip data.
All iCloud data is:
- Stored in your personal iCloud account
- Protected by Apple's security measures
- Not accessible to us
- Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy
Widget Data
If you use home screen widgets, trip data is shared with the widget extension via a secure App Group container on your device. This data does not leave your device.
Third-Party Services
The App uses the following Apple services:
Apple App Store & StoreKit
If you purchase a Mouse Bound Deluxe subscription, the transaction is processed by Apple. We do not have access to your payment information. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
Apple iCloud (CloudKit)
Trip Sharing and Family Sync features use Apple's CloudKit service to sync data between devices and with other users. This data is stored in your iCloud account and protected by Apple's security measures.
Apple Push Notification Service
If you enable notifications, we use Apple's Push Notification Service to deliver trip reminders and sync updates. We do not have access to your device token or notification data.
Information We Do NOT Collect
- Personal identification information (name, email, phone number)
- Location data
- Device identifiers or advertising IDs
- Usage analytics or behavioral data
- Crash reports
- Any data for advertising purposes
Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with third parties. Since we don't collect data on our servers, there is no data for us to share.
When you use Trip Sharing or Family Sync, you choose to share your trip data directly with specific people through Apple's iCloud infrastructure. We do not control or have access to this shared data.
Your Rights
For All Users
You can:
- Delete all your trip data by deleting the App
- Disable notifications in your device Settings
- Disable iCloud sync in your device Settings
For European Users (GDPR)
Under the General Data Protection Regulation, you have the right to:
- Access — Know what personal data is processed (in this case, only data stored locally on your device)
- Rectification — Correct any inaccurate data (edit your trips within the App)
- Erasure — Delete your data (delete trips or uninstall the App)
- Data Portability — Since data is stored on your device and in your iCloud account, you already have full access
- Withdraw Consent — Stop using iCloud sync at any time through your device Settings
Since we do not collect or store your personal data on our servers, most GDPR requests are fulfilled by the controls available to you within the App and your device settings.
For California Users (CCPA)
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, you have the right to:
- Know — What personal information is collected (only local device storage as described above)
- Delete — Remove your personal information (delete trips or uninstall the App)
- Opt-Out — We do not sell personal information, so no opt-out is necessary
- Non-Discrimination — We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights
Children's Privacy
Mouse Bound is not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
Data Security
Your trip data is stored locally on your device and protected by iOS security features, including:
- Device passcode / Face ID / Touch ID
- iOS app sandboxing
- Encrypted device storage
If you use iCloud sync, your data is additionally protected by Apple's iCloud security measures.
Data Retention
Since all data is stored on your device:
- Data persists until you delete it within the App or uninstall the App
- iCloud data persists until you delete it or remove it from iCloud
- We have no data to retain on our servers
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy in the App and updating the "Last Updated" date. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
